What is the best way to curve a test?

How does the square-root curve work?

Each raw score becomes 10 * sqrt(raw / 10). A score of 25 becomes 50, 49 becomes 70, 81 becomes 90. It compresses the top end and lifts the bottom end, so it's great when the test was just too hard for everyone.

Yes. The Flat Add method adds the same number of points to every score to hit a target average. Set the target to the letter-grade average you want (e.g. 75 for a C).
